Witches Falls Gift House
Click on the yellow circle to find the WITCHES FALLS GIFT HOUSE on the main map!
“Witches Falls Gift House” stocks a large range of sought after collectibles, including Shelly, Royal Doulton, Crown Derby, Wedgwood, Meakin, Kutani, Sathuma, Royal Dux, Lladro & Nao, Beswick, David Winter … to name a few.
People often ask “… why the name Witches Falls?” unaware that the area adjacent to the shop is “Witches Falls National Park” – the oldest National Park in Queensland. It is rumoured that the name Witches Falls “stuck” after residents west of Tamborine Mountain saw lights on the side of the mountain many years ago, and attributed them to “the Mountain Witches …”.
Upon entering the “Witches Falls Gift House” there is first the expression of surprise – after all, from Main Western road the shop appears small, but then, when you come inside – “Oh … LOOK … my grandma had one of those …” Shop owners Noelina & Phil Jackson often hear this comment as visitors start to browse through their assortment of old and collectable objects, precious things, antiques, curios and beautiful furniture.
Noel & Phil have spent a lifetime selecting interesting and rare items for you to see, admire, wonder at, and, if you really like, to buy at very reasonable prices. Their collection of old world charmers include solid antiques of mahogany, walnut, oak and other rare and exotic timbers, which are usually marked for sale at prices below that which you would expect to pay for “modern” counterparts.
Phil combines his furniture making skills with a flair for bringing old pieces “back to life”. Repair and restoration of furniture is his preference, while Noelina is a skilled artisan with her sewing machine, materials and extensive range of old jewellery.
As you meander through the displays you will find antique Vaseline glass pieces complemented by old Viennese glassware, in turn contrasted by the stark white beauty of Fenton glass. Lead crystal from all over the world rings like fairy bells when gently tapped and all the colours of the rainbow (or witches brew for that matter) leap out when held up to the light.
Old and Estate jewellery is enhanced by displays of estate diamond, sapphire, ruby, emerald and other precious stones set into rings, necklaces and brooches. Individual cut and polished solitaire unset

Local Producers Market
The “Green Shed”, located at the “Mount Tamborine Showgrounds”, Main Western Road, Mt. Tamborine, Queensland, is the local market for fresh, mostly organic, fruit & vegetables, and is open EVERY WEEK on Sunday mornings (including “Country Market” days) from 7.00am to noon.
Also on offer are flowers, honey, nuts, herbs & plants, local fresh fruit & vegies, also preserves, plants, fruit-juice, coffee etc.
Organized as a non-profit venture, through the Tamborine Mountain Local Producers Association Inc. (LPA), the market is provided as a service to local small farmers and growers of horticultural produce. Its aim is to allow local producers to offer their produce to the public every week on Tamborine Mountain and provide visitors and residents with the opportunity to purchase direct from growers.
A wide variety of high quality, freshly picked, mainly organically grown produce is always available. The range available depends on the season. Prices are set at a level which provides farmers a financial return sufficient to encourage them to continue their farming activities.
Tamborine Mountain is the source of an enormous variety of horticultural produce such as avocados, kiwi fruit, rhubarb, vegetables and flowers.
There are many large, specialist orchards, but much of the production comes from small farms or large residential blocks. About 70% of the land on Tamborine Mountain is designated for rural use. Horticultural activities give Tamborine Mountain its green, unspoiled character, which is one of the main reasons for the large numbers of tourists who visit here.
Being only 1 hour’s drive from Brisbane and even less from the bustling Gold Coast, Tamborine Mountain is a popular tourist destination. Many travel to Tamborine Mountain to see the extraordinary views of the Gold Coast, and the equally dramatic, but very different, views to the west.
Behind high hedges and dark green avocado trees, there is an aspect of Tamborine Mountain that few visitors see. The extraordinary fertility of the soil and favorable climate makes it possible to grow an amazing range of horticultural crops in this beautiful area of south east Queensland.
Tamborine Mountain’s horticulture has a long and interesting history. Originally, the main activity was timber getting. This is where the name Cedar Creek originates. As the land was cleared, it was taken up by dairy farmers. Later, there were periods when citrus growing was the major industry and large tracts of land were devoted to vegetable and flowers. Now,

Bungunyah Manor Resort
A warm welcome awaits you as you drive through the entrance gates of Historic “Bungunyah Manor Resort”. Surrounded by national parks and rainforest, Bungunyah is located high on Tamborine Mountain, 550 metes above sea level with views to the Gold Coast. “Bungunyah”, aboriginal in origin, meaning ‘the tall safe house,’ was built in 1928 as a guest house during the hard days of depression, by Jim and Emily Franklin. Mary and Edmund Curtis (the first settlers on Tamborine) were the parents of Emily.
The house was built of timber from the “Curtis Timber Yard” as well as from the original ‘Syndicate House’ – the first recorded ‘Get Away from it All’ place founded by Brisbane businessmen. The solid timber panelling in the lounge room came from the syndicate house and was cut about 1880.
Additions to Bungunyah Manor were made in 1990, being a two-storey sandstone Manor House. The 16 guest room Manor House Hotel has an imposing entry where you are transported in time to a splendid Victorian Manor where chandeliers and mirrors reflect the wide sweeping staircase that leads to the upstairs suites while a grandfather clock chimes off the decades.
Features include the elegant Victorian style sandstone all-suite accommodation manor house with Louis XV, Queen Anne and early Australian colonial themes throughout. Each split-level suite has a sitting room with a Victorian gas fire, a spacious balcony, queen bed, gold plated taps in the en-suite plus colonial style vanity, colour TV with remote, tea/coffee facilities, fridge, direct dial telephones and an ambiance of yesteryear. Email, facsimile and other business centre services are also available.
Dine in “Grande Style” at the historic ‘Jacques Manor Restaurant’ complete with its original antiques, open log fires, and ‘The Manor Bar’. The cuisine is distinctively French but with all the flavors of Mount Tamborine.
Bungunyah’s grounds are a delight with huge old trees, a gazebo, tennis court, swimming pool, and sauna. Hedges of jasmine and honeysuckle border the tennis court. Bungunyah is an exceptional mid-week or weekender stopover to take time out of your standard routine – place your world on hold…..

Tamborine Mountain Country Markets
The “Tamborine Mountain Country Markets” are held on the 2nd Sunday of each month at the Tamborine Mountain Showgrounds at the roundabout Main Western Road and Bartle Road in Mount Tamborine.
The market offers a huge range of fresh fruit and vegetables, wonderful locally produced cheeses, plants, herbs, flowers, coffee, arts and crafts, collectibles, garden ornaments, clothing, a myriad of home made things and delicious temptations of all kinds.
And if all this makes you hungry, there is plenty of food to eat right then, there’s excellent coffee, proffertjes (Dutch pancakes), German sausages (try the “Knackwurst” with mustard – yum!) or be tempted by baked jacket potatoes or fresh corn on the cob.
The Tamborine Mountain Showgrounds are quite large, so there is plenty of room to wander around.
Usually there’s a singer or performer on the gazebo stage, giving these markets a relaxing country atmosphere. Large shady trees keep you cool in summer, and some open areas allow you to soak in the sun on cooler days.
Little kids can have pony rides or play in the kids’ castle area, or have some fun with the small kid’s car ride. The “Tamborine Mountain County Markets” are definitely family-friendly, sometimes several dozen prams are seen parked in the eatery area!
For parking, there is some street parking all around “Main Western Road” but if you manage to find a spot, it can be difficult to cross the road and it can also mean a bit of a walk back to your car.
A much better solution is to support the SES who co-ordinate parking inside the grassy showgrounds. Just turn into Normandie Court at the roundabout and follow the signs. Entry is by gold coin donation, and an SES volunteer will direct you to your parking spot. It is much easier then to drop your fruit, vegies and other goodies back to the car – because chances are -you are going to buy too much to carry around!
The coolness and fresh air of Tamborine Mountain invites you to thoroughly enjoy this country market day. And whilst you are there, you can also drop in at the “Green Shed Local Producers Market” on every Sunday morning on the same site.
Visiting the “Tamborine Mountain Country Markets” really is a great day out for everyone!

School Ground Markets
The “Tamborine Mountain School Ground Markets” are a true country village market that supports the local State Primary School P&C fund raising. They are held on the last Sunday of each month from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The “Tamborine Mountain School Ground Markets” have become an institution for locals and mountain visitors alike. It could best be described as a mixture of a country market, a more traditional trash’ n’ treasure and a huge but still local garage sale.
Many stall holders are local residents of Mount Tamborine, offering anything and everything no longer needed in their households. Kitchen utensils and accessories, crockery and cutlery, crystal ware and collectibles, clothing and shoes, toys, sound records, tapes and DVDs, heaps of assorted bric-a-brac items – the range of items on offer need to be seen to be believed. Also old tools, small items of furniture, paintings, vases, Australiana, leatherwork – the list goes on and on…
Pick up some local fresh produce such as fruit and veggies, eggs, plants, nuts, soaps and cookies, freshly squeezed juices and of course a good cup of coffee – to mention just a few of the goodies on offer!
So come on up, find that special piece, fossick through the treasures, stock up on fresh local produce and – enjoy your visit to Tamborine Mountain!

Reflexology
Reflexology is an “alternative” medicine involving the physical act of applying pressure to the feet, hands or ears with the specific hand, thumb and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands, with the premise that such work effects a physical change to the body.
The body is divided into ten equal vertical zones, five on the right and five on the left. Reflexology is a healing art of ancient origin. Although its origins are not well documented, there are reliefs on the walls of a sixth Dynasty Egyptian tomb 9Ca 2450 BC) that depict two seated men receiving massage on their hands and feet. It is thought to be of Greek origin.
Relexology can address your particular needs. Painful, congested, sluggish or overactyive states within the body can be normalised and balanced. Thousands of documented case studies from around the world have demonstrated the benefits for migraine, sinus, stomach / back / neck / shoulder / tendon pains, asthma, bowel problems and many more.
Reflexolgy is a relaxing therapy that works on many levels, soothing, calming, balancing and boosting your entire body. It is deeply relaxing, yet surprisingly energising – all part of its balancing capacity. You may feel you are being pampered during your refelxology session, but do not underestimate the powerful effects this treatment can have on your body systems.
A reflexology session lasts about an hour, depending on the age and state of your health. The number of sessions required depends on the condition being addressed, and your healing response.
