Our Executive Chef, Brent Giddins, will continue to impress guests with a selection of modern Australian cuisine, international dishes and sumptuous sweets! Stay and play packages are available and are encouraged so you can experience the very popular Breakfast with the Birds BBQ Buffet available on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8am to 10am.

The architecturally designed and professionally landscaped companion to the Rainforest Amphitheatre.  A bonfire beside the creek, a candle lit reception beneath the tiered suspended roof line within sight and sound of an illuminated waterfall spilling into pebbled rock pools.  You and your guests will never see or experience anything as outstanding as the Island Glade.  A one off – the jewel in Thunderbird Park’s crown.

The Sanctuary

A bygone era is captured in this colonial haven.  An ambient room with timber parquetry floors, subtle crystal lighting and an open fireplace allows you and your guests to escape to a more tranquil era.  The upper verandah overlooks a paved terrace backing onto Cedar Creek with majestic views of the rainforest’s towering canopy.

Rainforest Restaurant and Lounge Bar

TWO GALLERIES IN ONE LOCATION !

Born in 1937, Peter is a self-taught artist having started to paint as a hobby when he was 19 years old. Turning professional in the 1970s, Peter’s artworks now hang in corporate boardrooms, hotels, clubs and in private collections both in Australia and around the world. Nearly every continent can claim to have at least one of his paintings on its walls.

Peter lived in Melbourne in the 1970s where he owned and operated his own gallery at Olinda in the Dandenongs. When he moved later to Canberra, the Australian government purchased examples of his art for presentation to visiting heads of state.

During a television interview a journalist asked Peter how he would describe his art. Peter answered: “When I paint a horse, it looks like a horse; when I paint cattle they look like cattle. So I guess you would call me a traditional artist. I paint my paintings the way I see them, which is why so many people can relate to the places and scenes that I paint”.

“P.J. Art Gallery”is the only art gallery where the name Peter J Hill is signed on every painting that hangs on its wall. A Canadian customer once said: “To get to see the Outback, one only has to step into the gallery and take a look around. It is like stepping from the Coast into the Country in one step”.

The “Main Street” shopping precinct in North Tamborine offers all essential services such as a butcher, two green grocers, a newsagent, bakery, hardware store, post office, supermarket and the like, as well as a number of coffee shops, a health food store, pizzerias and real estate agents, to mention just a few.

Starting in early 2012, the shopping precinct just off Main Street has been a hive of activity, with a new shopping center being built (as at July 2012) as well as many refurbishments within the retail area around the “Beacon Road / Main Western Road” “T” junction. Mount Tamborine has a very moderate climate.

The temperature rarely goes above 30 deg C averaging some four or five degrees cooler than the surrounding lowlands in Summer, and in the winter there is only the occasional frost in protected valleys. The annual rainfall is about 1,550 mm falling mainly between December and March.

“Aaronlee Retreat” is located on the very top and very edge of Mount Tamborine and set on 10 acres of lawns and gardens.

All accommodation has either kitchen or kitchenettes and most come with spa and fireplaces.  The property has a swimming pool, under cover BBQ area and two friendly Shetland ponies that you can feed.

At the “Clemart Gallery”, you can sit and relax with a hot or cold beverage from our coffee corner, and enjoy the beautiful artwork by Wayne Clements – well known for his ongoing fundraising for charities, such as RACQ Careflight Rescue, and host of 31 Digital’s very popular TV show ‘Art Studio’ viewed throughout Australia.

Our very friendly and helpful staff are always on hand to assist you to stock up on your art supplies, whether you are already an artist or wanting to release your creativity after viewing one of Wayne’s very infectious Learn to Paint DVDS.

We also do quality picture framing – so bring your art work in to have it framed by us. Everything in the one store!

We pride ourselves on hands-on advice, top service and always a friendly greeting when you walk through our doors, seven days a week.

The Gallery and Art Supply Shop is open Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm, and on Sundays from 10am to 3pm.
